TRAINING PROGRAMS

  SIERRA SEAPLANES

Multiengine Sea Course:

The course includes up to six-hours of dual flight time in the PA-23 amphibian, ground school, study materials, examiners fee, aircraft rental for the checkride, and a six month membership to the Seaplane Pilots Association.

This course trains pilots to handle a multi-engine seaplane confidently, not just to pass minimum requirements. Students are expected to solely and competently fly the aircraft at the end of the course.

The six-hours included with the basic course is based on average student completion times (usually 5-7 hours for a Commercial Pilot). To help keep costs down, multiengine currency is strongly recommended when beginning the course. We define “current” as having recently flown and performed maneuvers; specifically, single-engine emergencies in a light twin.

Price:

Airplane Multiengine Sea Course:      $3,900.00

Prerequisites:

The pilot must be multiengine land rated (multiengine currency is strongly recommended), possess a US Passport or Original Birth Certificate (non US Citizens must first register with the TSA), and have a current FAA Medical Certificate.

An Airline Transport Pilot Multiengine Sea Course is also available and will require two to three additional hours of training. See our Additional Services page for more information.
